Podcast #4: Brianna Theus

Brianna Theus never imagined she'd become a dietitian.

But when her parents pushed her towards healthcare instead of pastry school, she found her passion in addressing malnutrition and food insecurity.

She created The Celestial Life to give the minorities, people of colour, men and others who would typically avoid treatment and provide a space where they can examine their relationship with food. Brianna brings a unique perspective to the field of dietetics, empowering her clients to embrace their bodies and lifestyles.

What we chat about:

  • Grasp the importance of tailoring eating disorder treatment plans to each unique individual.

  • Realize how acknowledging one's cultural identity can enhance eating disorder recovery.

  • Explore the complexities of eating disorder treatment and the significance of cultural sensitivity.

  • Recognize the impact of strong community ties on dietitians' effectiveness in the eating disorder field.

  • Gain insight into the obstacles faced by BIPOC professionals in dietetics and the urgency for greater inclusivity.
